Martin Lawrence admits he played a part in Will Smith getting hired for “Bad Boys” during an appearance on Wednesday’s “Ellen DeGeneres Show”.

Lawrence and Smith, who starred in the flick back in 1995, are now reuniting for “Bad Boys for Life”, the third instalment in the franchise, after 16 years.

Lawrence, who had already been cast in the film, tells DeGeneres how his sister “brought Will to [his] attention.”

He shares, “She was like, ‘you should do a movie with Will.’ And so I called Will and we set up a dinner and Will came to my house. Five minutes after talking to Will, he got the job.

“It was like one of the best things I’ve done and now Will is like the franchise. You can’t do it without him.”

Smith then talks about discovering a precancerous polyp while vlogging his colonoscopy procedure and stresses the importance of getting checked.
