Caitlyn Jenner is sharing her opinion about the “trial of the century,” and she’s not holding back.
The former athlete is currently appearing on U.K. reality competition “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!” and opened up about the murder trial of O.J. Simpson, which resulted in the one-time NFL great being found not guilty of killing wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman.
“I saw Nicole two days before she was murdered, it was Kris’ best friend, we were right in the middle of it,” revealed Jenner, 70, during the show.
“Her ex-husband Robert [Kardashian], O.J. was the best man at their wedding,” she added.
Looking back at the trial, Jenner recalled it being “a bad time for everybody, very difficult.”
All these years later, Jenner’s opinion of what took place during the trial is not a good one. “We knew what happened and this trial was a joke,” she said. “And when the verdict came down, Kris just turned around to me and goes, ‘We should have listened to Nicole from the beginning, she was right.'”
The trial was also a difficult time for the Kardashian sisters, for whom Simpson had once been a beloved family friend.
“That night the verdict came in, Kourtney and Kimberly were in school and obviously they loved their father, and they should, and they’d been following this for a year and a half and when they walked in the door… I think it was Kourtney who said. ‘Well, I told you he didn’t do it.'”
Jenner recounted what she told them: “And I just said to the girls, ‘Just because he got a not guilty didn’t mean he didn’t do it, and I don’t want his name ever mentioned in this house again.'”
Asked if she liked Simpson, Jenner replied, “No. Too big an ego for me.”
