Talk about awkward. John Travolta got a big surprise when he saw “Jerry Maguire” for the first time.
The actor had no idea wife Kelly Preston had an intense sex scene with co-star Tom Cruise in the film until he saw “Jerry Maguire” in theatres. During an appearance on “The Late Late Show With James Corden” with fellow guests Aaron Taylor-Johnson and his wife, director Sam Taylor-Johnson, the topic of watching one’s spouse perform an intimate scene came up.
“You don’t even know what awkward is, nor do you, until you sit in the screening of ‘Jerry Maguire‘ and you don’t know that scene is coming up and your wife is with Tom Cruise in the middle of something that is astonishing,” Travolta confesses. “That’s awkward. I had no idea.”
As host James Corden helpfully points out, Preston’s dialogue in the scene includes loudly shouting, “Never ever stop f***ing me.”
“That was rough,” Travolta adds. He and Preston met in 1989 on the set of “The Experts” and recently celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary in September.
The Taylor-Johnsons also touched upon Aaron’s sex scene in “A Million Little Pieces”, directed by his wife.
“We wrote it together so I kind of knew what we were getting into when we were writing it and then it’s another thing when you’re filming it,” the “Fifty Shades Of Grey” director says, revealing her husband’s sex scene was shot on Valentine’s Day.
