‘Game Of Thrones’ Star Dean-Charles Chapman Recalls The Time A Fan Tried To Punch Him Because Of His Character

Dean-Charles Chapman was part of one of the biggest shows over the past decade and while he had many happy memories on set, his character received a lot of backlash.

Playing Tommen Baratheon, the youngest of Jaime and Cersei Lannister’s children, made fans very angry, particularly since many couldn’t tell the difference between real life and the show.

While promoting his new film “1917”, Chapman recalled one instance. “He was like, ‘I really hate you. I want to punch you right in the face.’ And my mates were like, ‘Whoa whoa whoa.’ But that’s the thing with the ‘Game of Thrones’ fans, they are so dedicated,” he said.

Chapman added, “I guess that’s like a good thing as well, like [fans are] so sucked up into the characters and stuff, they either genuinely hate you or they love you.”

For those who can separate Chapman from his “GoT” character, he will star in the one continuous take WW1 film “1917” which hits theatres on Dec. 25.
