Since revealing in May that she previously received an abortion, the actress and activist been sent “thousands” of messages.
While advocating against the Georgia “heartbeat bill”, the “Good Place” actress shared on Twitter that when she was younger she had an abortion and it was “the best decision I have ever made.”
“Both for me, and for the baby I didn’t want, and wasn’t ready for, emotionally, psychologically and financially. So many children will end up in foster homes. So many lives ruined. So very cruel,” Jamil added.
Since then people have hounded Jamil for the choice she made about her own body and she has had enough.
“Receiving THOUSANDS of messages about how I made a mistake having an abortion 7 years ago and how I must be a miserable person…” Jamil wrote on Friday.
She added, “I am in fact a happy, thriving multi millionaire, madly in love, with free time, good sleep and a wonderful career and life. But thanks for checking.”
But it was the GIF that accompanied the tweet that sealed the message.
Someone called out Jamil for being “tacky” for saying she is a “multi millionaire” in a since deleted tweet.
“No. It’s a fact. Not tacky. Pure fact. X,” she responded.
