A Retro Holiday Clip Of Mr. Dressup Shared On Twitter Is Making Canadians Nostalgic

Canada’s national broadcaster celebrated the holiday season on Friday by sharing a vintage clip of iconic children’s series “Mr. Dressup”.

The seven-minute clip posted on CBC’s Twitter account features Mr. Dressup (played for more than 30 years by Ernie Coombs, who passed away in 2001) planning for a Christmas party.

In the heartwarming video, he can be seen making holiday crafts, demonstrating how kids can make their own personalized Christmas stockings from construction paper.

The clip clearly evoked warm memories from those who grew up watching “Mr. Dressup” during its lengthy run on the CBC, where it aired from 1967 until 1996.

Check out a sample of the reaction to the feel-good holiday nostalgia:

Even Canadian-born comedian Tom Green weighed in.
