Lizzo had an absolute blast at Sunday night’s Lakers game.
The singer was sitting courtside to watch the L.A.’s NBA team take on the Minnesota Timberwolves, and she wore a particularly revealing outfit with a cutout showing off her thong.
Lizzo also got very into the Lakers Girls cheerleader performance, dancing along in her seat to the delight of fans in the arena and watchers at home.
Despite Lizzo looking like she had the best time, some insisted she shouldn’t have worn such a revealing ensemble.
However, the musician was quick to fire back at critics on Instagram.
She said, “Who I am and the essence of me and the things that I choose to do as a grown ass woman can inspire you to do the same. You don’t have to be like me. You need to be like you. Never, ever let somebody stop you or shame you from being yourself. This is who I’ve always been. Now everyone’s looking at it and your criticism can just remain your criticism. Your criticism has no effect on me.
“Negative criticism has no stake in my life, no control over my life, over my emotions. I’m the happiest I’ve ever been and surrounded by so much love. I just wanna spread that love and also spread these cheeks. And if you really don’t like my ass, you can kiss it.”

#PressPlay: #Lizzo started to make headlines for the outfit choice she decided to wear at last night’s Lakers game. Some people weren’t here for her choice of clothing. Nonetheless, she could care less about what critics have to say about the way she decides to show her body.
Others suggested that she should be banned from the Staples Center, Lee Zeidman, president of Staples Center, called that “ridiculous.”
“She is not banned from the Staples Center and is welcome here anytime,” Zeidman said in a statement to Billboard. “It’s ridiculous that these rumours get started and that people write these types of things without making any attempt to find out the truth. It’s very lazy and disrespectful.”
He then tweeted out the same sentiments.
