“Riverdale” star Mädchen Amick is totally comfortable in her own skin.

The 49-year-old actress is on the cover of the new Mr. Warburton magazine, and in the issue she opens up about starring in the hit show, her feelings about doing nudity and missing her late co-star Luke Perry.

“I have always just thought that clothing was optional,” Amick says. “Especially now as I am getting older I want to embrace my body, celebrate it. I am proud of my age and I love all of my wrinkles.”

That said, the actress has had issues with how her nudity in certain films has been handled in the past, including one film where the producers released a cut featuring more skin than the director’s version.

“I don’t have inhibitions, but I didn’t feel good about that,” she admits.

Speaking about the #MeToo movement, Amick says, “I always talk about everything and I always tell everyone on set what I am making, that’s how you even out the playing field.”

Remembering Perry, who died earlier this year at the age of 52 after having a stroke, Amick says, “Luke and I were real friends. I still reach for my phone every time I land back in Vancouver to go to dinner. He was my first phone call every time”

She adds, “Luke was an old soul, and not only was he a father to his own children he was the father to our cast of kids. Luke would text me all the time and say, hey, you need to talk to the girls, they need advice.”

Amick also remembers congregating with the cast and crew of “Riverdale” after Perry died.

“We cried and hugged for hours. We were devastated,” she says. “He and I were Ma and Pa kettle to all these kids. We were all in shock. He is desperately missed.”

Along with starring on “Riverdale”, Amick also has news about a new role she’s taking on the show.

I am thrilled to announce that I will be directing episode 19 of season 4 of ‘Riverdale’,” she reveals. “I’m so thrilled to be working with the amazing creator of the show Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.”
