Stand-up comedian Bill Burr has long been known for his jokes about Star Wars.
He once compared the original movies to “a cheesy self-help book put in outer space with, like, Muppets.”
Little did Burr know at the time, but flash forward to the launch of Disney+ and their new show “The Mandalorian”, the comedian was cast as mercenary Mayfeld in episode six.

During “Chapter 6: The Prisoner”, Burr makes his debut. Crime boss Ran (Mark Boone Jr.) notes how Mayfeld was a “former Imperial sharpshooter.”
“That’s not saying much,” the Mandalorian responds as Mayfeld quips, “I wasn’t a stormtrooper, wisea**.”
For those not familiar with the “sharpshooter” joke, it is a reference to the inside joke among Star Wars fans how stormtroopers are notoriously bad shooters and never hit their targets.

Later on in the episode, Burr makes more jokes about Jar Jar Binks and the Mandalorian’s ship, The Razor Crest, commenting that it looks like a “slot machine on Canto Bight,” a reference to the Casino Planet in “The Last Jedi”.
