“Power Rangers” is coming back and this time from Paramount and Hasbro.
Filmmaker Jonathan Entwistle is behind the project that is still in early negotiations The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The premises behind this reboot would bring the kids back to the 1990s who then have to figure out how to return to present day.
Patrick Burleigh (“Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway”) is writing the script.
“Power Rangers” first hit the scene in the ’90s as “The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers”. The show changed hands a few times–first starting with Fox Kids, then Disney before a movie was released in 1995.

Lionsgate took over in 2017 with a slightly more mature edge but the film bombed as it only made $142 million globally on a budget of $100 million. They had planned on a series of films but that idea was thrown out.
