Shaquille O’Neal has people questioning whether or not Stevie Wonder is really blind…again.
On Thursday night’s “Inside the NBA”, the basketball star shared a story of the musical legend that has brought up old conspiracies that Wonder can actually see.
O’Neal starts off by warning the rest of the panel that they probably won’t believe him. However, he goes on to say that it’s a true story.
“We live in a building on Wilshire Boulevard, you park your car and the valets down there,” he says, explaining that he lives in the same NYC building as Wonder. “I’m already in the building and coming through the lobby. [Elevator] Door opens and it’s Stevie Wonder.”
While riding the elevator together, O’Neal says that wonder addressed him by name.
“He comes in, says ‘what’s up Shaq.’ Presses the button, it’s a true story, presses the button, gets off on his floor by himself, goes to his room.”
He adds: “He got on the elevator was like ‘what’s up Shaq, how you doing big dog?’ got out and gone. Yes he did.”
Clearly having a hard time believing this, fellow panellists Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley and Ernie Johnson begin laughing.
Other Hollywood stars have also questioned Wonder’s ability to see including actor Anthony Anderson and Lionel Richie. Critics first jumped to conclusions in 2014 when the singer caught a microphone while performing.
