Dwayne Johnson Responds To Presidential Shoutout In ‘Sonic The Hedgehog’

After a long journey to the screen, “Sonic the Hedgehog” is finally set to arrive in theatres in February, and a clip from the upcoming film features a sly nod to a wrestler-turned-actor who may have presidential ambitions.

Inspired by the wildly popular video game, a new clip shared on Twitter finds the titular blue hedgehog arriving on Earth with no idea of what time period he’s arrived in.

“What year is it?” asks Sonic. “Is The Rock president?”

The shoutout from Sonic received a response from The Rock himself, with Dwayne Johnson tweeting about the clip.

“So crazy I used to love playing Sonic in college,” he wrote. “Many moons later this… life can be so damn wildly unpredictable and surreal at times.”
