“Jumanji: The Next Level” is the new No. 1 spot at the box office.
The film starring Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan and Jack Black brought in $60.1 million in the domestic box office between Friday to Sunday. This unseats “Frozen 2” who has been No. 1 since its release.

The first remake of the family favourite film, “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” ended up bringing $404.5 million in the domestic box office in 2017.
“The Next Level” has had a less than impressive response from critics with only 66 on Rotten Tomatoes. But that hasn’t stopped families and kids at heart from enjoying the fun flick.

“Richard Jewell” and “Black Christmas” also premiered this weekend but both couldn’t take over “Knives Out” which held strong in the third spot.
Yet with “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” hitting theatres next weekend, it is predicted that all the above films will be pushed out of the way.
