Taylor Swift and Rebel Wilson had a blast working with the legendary Dame Judi Dench on “Cats”.
Swift and Wilson sat down with Hoda Kotb for NBC’s “Today” ahead of the “Cats” theatrical release. The two actresses could not drink in enough Dench on the film’s set.
“She’s the nicest legend though,” Swift shares. “She got me candy… It was the most amazing thing. I was just talking near her about this kind of candy that they have in the U.K. called Squashies.
“I was ranting about the candy for a while. And the next day, in my dressing room, I walked into the trailer and there were, like, ten packets of this candy with a signed headshot from Judi.”
Wilson says just about anything that came out of Dench’s mouth was gold.
“I got to sit next to her one day at rehearsals and I mean, I’m totally in awe of her,” Wilson admits. “She’s 85 years old and she has to wear this coat that was, like, 80 pounds.”
“She would b**ch about it a lot and I was just, like, ‘Oh my God, Judi Dench is, like, b**ching about her coat,” Wilson adds. “I was just intrigued by everything she did or said.”
Dench, Swift, and Wilson star alongside James Corden, Jason Derulo and Ian McKellen in “Cats”. The musical movie premieres Dec. 20. The “Today” episode with Swift and Wilsona airs Tuesday, Dec. 17.
