Ellie Goulding is the voice of reason in a tense and highly-unusual motor vehicle accident.
Witness footage captured a Volkswagen GTi being pushed down a road by a Royal Mail delivery lorry in West London. The truck driver seemed oblivious to the car trapped in front of him. Witnesses urgently tried to get the truck driver’s attention and he finally stopped.

Multiple witnesses were outraged by the truck driver’s perceived ineptitude, but one witness only wanted to make sure everyone was alright. Enter Ellie Goulding, who checked on the men in the car and later came to the defence of the truck driver on social media.
“I’m the one in the car checking if this guy was okay,” Goulding later confirmed on her Instagram Story. “Everyone was driving past but my driver guy stopped.”

“On a side note, I can’t believe the first instinct of the other drivers who got out was to instantly start filming on their phones and shout abuse at the poor shocked driver,” she added. “Not even checking the other driver was okay. What on earth.”
The truck driver insisted he did not realize there was a car trapped in front of him. He checked on the passengers in the car and seemed cooperative.
