Camila Cabello wants fans to know she has grown a lot.
On Wednesday, the former Fifth Harmony singer took to social media to own up to and apologize for racist language and behaviour in her past.
“When I was younger, I used language that I’m deeply ashamed of and will regret forever,” the 22-year-old wrote.
She added, “I’m 22 now, I’m an adult and I’ve grown and learned and am conscious and aware of the history and the pain it carries in a way I wasn’t before.”
Over the years, a number of people have pointed to Cabello engaging in racist behaviour, including appropriating black culture and using the N-word, as reported in an article at Babe in 2018.
