Jack Perry is making his dad proud.
Jack, better known as Jungle Boy in the pro-wrestling circle, took on world-renowned Canadian wrestler Chris Jericho in a marquee bout on Wednesday’s episode of “All Elite Wrestling Dynamite”. The show aired on TNT in the U.S. and TSN in Canada.
Jungle Boy is the son of late, great “Beverly Hills, 90210” actor Luke Perry. In a previous episode of “AEW Dynamite”, Jericho asserted that Jungle Boy could not go 10 minutes in the ring with him and that is exactly what Jungle Boy did.
Jack’s sister, Sophie Perry, his mother, Rachel “Minnie” Sharp, and his grandmother Liz were all seated front row to cheer Jungle Boy on.
“I know my dad would be very proud of this,” Jungle Boy told announcer Jim Ross in a pre-match vignette. “We spent so many nights when I was growing up talking about when this would all be. When it would happen. When it would take place.”
“I think, for me to be here talking to you [and] wrestling Chris Jericho, I think it would kind of be everything he wanted,” Jack continued. “I know he’d be very happy about it.”
Jungle Boy stuck to his word and went 10 full minutes with the AEW World Champion. It was a star-making performance that had the Corpus Christi, Texas, crowd firmly behind 22-year-old Jungle Boy.
