Amy Adams is an agoraphobic woman who witnesses a disturbing act of violence in your first look at the thriller “The Woman In The Window”.
In the film, based on the bestselling novel by A.J. Finn, Adams is Dr. Anna Fox, a woman housebound by her fear of the outdoors who has taken to keeping tabs on the Russell family through her window. The picture-perfect family, headed up by Gary Oldman’s character, may be hiding something sinister under the surface. Dr. Fox gets caught up in the twisted drama as her agoraphobia plays tricks on her, setting her up as a player in a dangerous game in the film from director Joe Wright (“Atonement”).
The movie was filmed in 2018 and had its release pushed back from 2019 to 2020 after reshoots were required to make the plot more coherent for audiences. The delay resulted in Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross bowing out of crafting the film’s score. Danny Elfman stepped in to replace them. “The Woman In The Window” is also the final film from Fox 2000 Pictures, which has since shuttered as a result of the Disney-Fox merger.
Julianne Moore, Wyatt Russell, Anthony Mackie, and Brian Tyree Henry co-star in the movie, which lands in theatres on May 15, 2020.
