The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are spending Archie’s first Christmas in Canada.
Omid Scobie first broke the news, sharing on Twitter:
“As has been reported, Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are spending private family time in Canada. The decision to base themselves in Canda reflects the importance of this Commonwealth country to them both. Whilst this email confirms the country they are taking their family time in, for security reasons we will not be releasing any further details and request that their privacy is respected,” the statement said.
“The Duke of Sussex has been a frequent visitor to Canada over many years, and it was also home to The Duchess for seven years before she became a member of the Royal Family. They are enjoying sharing the warmth of the Canadian people and the beauty of the landscape with their young son,” it concluded.
Meghan lived in Toronto while filming “Suits”. She has made trips back to visit her close friend Jessica Mulroney.
The palace has confirmed to ET Canada that no further details about their visit will be released at this time.
Shortly after the news broke, Justin Trudeau tweeted out support for the young family spending time in Canada.
“Prince Harry, Meghan, and Archie, we’re all wishing you a quiet and blessed stay in Canada. You’re among friends, and always welcome here,” he wrote.
