George Michael has sustained minor injuries following a car crash says his publicist. The singer was a passenger in the Range Rover that got into the accident in Hertfordshire, England on Thursday night, suffering from “superficial cuts and bruises.”;

According to reports from Sky News, the crash occurred on the crowded M1 motorway and another man involved in the single vehicle car accident had to be air lifted to hospital for treatment of a head injury.

The former Wham! singer served jail time in 2010 after his Range Rover crashed into a photo shop in north London, while under the influence of drugs and having marijuana in his possession. Previous to that he had been banned from driving for two years on another drug-related incident.

George’s last album was released in 2004 and he has been releasing a number of singles for charities and special events since then, including a cover of Stevie Wonder’s You and I recording for Prince William and Kate Middleton’s royal wedding. And he released the new song White Light to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Wham!’s first single.
