What do you give a 6-year-old girl for Christmas?
While some might look at such items as a Malibu Barbie Dream House or some “Frozen II” merch, Kim Kardashian and husband went in a very different direction when Christmas shopping for daughter North.
According to Kardashian’s Instagram Story, North will be receiving a music artifact: a jacket once owned by the late Michael Jackson.
“North is a really big Michael Jackson fan and we knew she would love this,” Kim said. “We won this on an auction for Northie for Christmas.”
Jackson was photographed in public wearing the jacket twice during 1997, once while celebrating pal Elizabeth Taylor’s 65th birthday party and again to attend a screening of his short film “Ghosts” at the 50th Cannes Film Festival.
While some might find giving a young child an item of clothing worn by an accused pedophile to be just a bit on the inappropriate side, West and Kardashian apparently don’t see things in those terms.
“They just gonna pull up full documentaries on him,” West said of the allegations detailed in HBO documentary “Leaving Neverland”, reported Complex. “Then they gonna come with the Michael [Jackson] documentary.”
Addressing the controversy that engulfed the late King of Pop and R. Kelly in recent months, West shared his belief in keeping an artists’ personal lives separate from their art. “We can all enjoy all their music all we want,” he said. “I thought I wasn’t going to go there today. If we’re gonna tear down artists, let’s go ahead and take [Leonardo] da Vinci out the Louvre. Let’s take down all the art.”
