Jake Gyllenhaal and John Mulaney are the ultimate weirdo duo in the bizarre Netflix special “John Mulaney And The Sack Lunch Bunch”, and Twitter has some thoughts.

The new comedy special from Mulaney stars the comedian as himself, hanging out with a bunch of kids like a ’90s after school special.

While the special is full of subtle jokes and one-liners, it also features a musical number towards the end starring Gyllenhaal as the wacky Mr. Music in a xylophone jacket.

Mr. Music’s mission is to find music everywhere, but here’s the catch – he doesn’t like instruments. To prove music is literally everywhere, he hits pens on books, tosses shirts in laundry bags, pulls spoons out of pudding cups and swirls Bordeaux.

“Is Mr. Music OK?” one kid asks during the special.

“No, Mr. Music’s not OK. He’s having a lot of trouble,” Mulaney explains.

Following “John Mulaney And The Sack Lunch Bunch”‘s premiere, Twitter erupted with confusion:

“John Mulaney And The Sack Lunch Bunch” is streaming now on Netflix.
