Ryan Reynolds has officially confirmed that there will be a “Deadpool 3”.
In an interview on “Live With Kelly and Ryan” on Christmas Eve, the Canadian actor broke the news that a new installment of the franchise is currently in the works.
“Yeah we’re working on it right now with the whole team,” he said. ‘We’re over at Marvel [Studios] now, which is like the big leagues all of a sudden. It’s kinda crazy. So yeah, we’re working on it.”
This comes as a relief to fans who were worried that Disney might not be up to making an R-rated Marvel movie. Earlier this year, Disney bought out 21st Century Fox who was originally behind the “Deadpool” films. Disney has confirmed that they will allow Fox to continue with the less than wholesome franchise which makes sense since up until this year’s “Joker”, both “Deadpool” and “Deadpool 2” were the highest grossing R-rated movies in box office history. They both made more than $780 million worldwide.
Reynolds also went on to talk about filming his newest Netflix thriller “6 Underground”, including how he took his kids with him to the Middle East.
“We let them immerse themselves in the culture a little bit. We left them there,” he joked. “They will be missed.”
Speaking of his kids, the “R.I.P.D” star also talked about how his family gets ready for the holidays.
“My kids are so much smarter than me,” Reynolds said while adding that his kids love dolphins and don’t want to see plastic end up in the ocean.
Let’s just say Ryan Reynolds has given us a great gift for the holidays.
