Twitter is playing the ultimate wingman for NHL star Anthony Beauvillier after he tried to shoot his shot with Anna Kendrick.
The Canadian hockey pro, 22, who plays for the New York Islanders, used Twitter to send a message to his celebrity crush, simply writing, “Hi Anna Kendrick.”
But Beauvillier fans decided the “Hi” wouldn’t cut it so they took matters into their own hands by talking him up.
“Beau, thank you again for saving all those kittens at that animal shelter in the Bahamas when the Hurricane hit,” one Twitter user replied. “Still amazed that you swam to Miami with them on your back.”
Another added, “Hey Beau! The folks at @NASA called, looks like they’re gonna need you to save the world from another planet-ending asteroid again. Yeah I know, it’s getting old saving the world, but face it you’re our only hope! Thanks, the entire world owes you for your sacrifice!”
Check out a few other responses:
And finally, two days after Beauvillier’s initial tweet, Kendrick finally responded.
“These replies have been my entertainment for the last two days,” she tweeted. “Thank you all for regaling me with the true tales of this man’s heroism.”
