Toronto Raptors superfan Nav Bhatia and LeBron James made a Canadian teen battling cancer’s dreams come true over Christmas.
Corey Groves, 17, from Brampton, was diagnosed with stage four sarcoma cancer around six months ago and has already gone through 12 rounds of chemotherapy, CTV reported.
He was granted a wish from the Children’s Wish Foundation. However, despite arranging for Groves to go and see the Lakers play the Clippers in Los Angeles on Christmas Day, they were unable to arrange a meeting with James. That’s when Bhatia stepped in.
The beloved Canadian arranged for Groves to meet the basketball pro at the team’s walk-through.
Wishing his followers a Merry Christmas, Groves posted: “I got my wish. So thankful to everyone that helped me make this happen.”
The teen added in a video posted on the Trillium Health Partners Twitter profile: “Everyone wants something more than a handshake. But a handshake is like a friendship between someone. And, you know, I have everything I want, so I can’t complain. A handshake would just be the best thing.”
