Vicki Gunvalson has been hit by a wave of backlash over some comments she made during the recent “Real Housewives of Orange County” reunion special.
During the past season of the reality TV hit, Gunvalson has butted heads with new cast member Braunwyn Windham-Burke.
It all came to a head when Gunvalson called out Windham-Burke for kissing co-star Tamra Judge as the cameras rolled. “Do it off-camera,” Gunvalson yelled, reports Us Weekly. “Fifteen years, I started this show. We don’t do that. Turn it down, Braunwyn. Turn it down!… We have kids watching this!”
She added: “Get off the show. Let’s elevate. I lost two clients last month because of these shenanigans. They said it doesn’t meet their moral compass.”

Gunvalson’s on-air rant led numerous fans to accuse her of homophobia, and on Sunday she took to Instagram to explain herself.
“I’m gonna hit it right on, head on. I am not homophobic,” Gunvalson says in the video. “I’ve got family members that are gay and lesbian and I’ve got obviously Bravo fans, personal friends. I’m not.”
According to Gunvalson, her problem isn’t with same-sex PDA, but with PDA in general.
“I don’t think it’s appropriate for Braunwyn to be making out on TV,” she says. “I don’t care if it’s with her husband or Tamra or anybody, I just don’t think it’s appropriate. If she wants to go do that, do that off-camera. I don’t really think that we all need to see it.”

She also says that she simply has a problem with Windham-Burke. “The truth is, the girl bugs me, so probably much [of] anything she does would bug me,” she admits. “Sorry if you all took it any differently than what the truth is.”
Meanwhile, social media comments to Gunvalson’s initial comments were scathing. Here’s a sampling:
