Spacey faced a sexual assault lawsuit filed by a John Doe. The accuser alleged that Spacey forced John Doe to twice grab the actor’s genitals. The incident occurred during a massage at a private residence in Malibu. Spacey tried to put a halt to the lawsuit but the presiding judge moved it through, per The Hollywood Reporter.

John Doe suddenly died and the actor’s attorney filed a notice of death in court. John Doe’s estate had 90 days to be substituted into the case. The accuser’s son successfully petitioned in November to a probate court to become a special administrator.

Attorneys for Spacey and the special administrator filed a stipulation to dismiss the case with prejudice. That means claims can’t be refiled. The terms of the deal were not made public.
