After weighing in on the movies of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Martin Scorsese is now offering his take on “Joker”.

Admitting he hasn’t watched it yet and has no plans to see it any time soon, “The Irishman” director has however seen a few clips from Todd Phillips’ film.

“I saw clips of it,” Scorsese tells the New York Times. “I know it. So it’s like, why do I need to? I get it. It’s fine.”

The gritty origin story starring Joaquin Phoenix as Joker features homages Scorsese’s films “Taxi Driver” and “King Of Comedy”.  The 77-year-old filmmaker previously passed on the chance to executive produce “Joker”, though Emma Tillinger Koskoff, the head of his Sikelia Productions company, worked on the movie.

While the MCU and “Joker” may not earn Scorsese’s praise, the director mentions he really liked Bong Joon-ho’s “Parasite”.
