“Even Stevens” not only launched Shia LaBeouf’s acting career, but it helped him score his first kiss too.

The actor, 33, who starred as the hilarious Louis Stevens on the beloved Disney Channel sitcom for three seasons, chatted with W Magazine‘s “Best Performances” issue about the show and credited the writers for helping him kiss his co-star.

“The producers knew I had a crush on this girl, and they wrote a scene where we kissed,” he gushed. “I was nervous. I matured late that way.”

And while he didn’t name his crush, in season three of “Even Stevens”, during the episode “The Kiss”, Louis kissed his on-screen BFF Tawny Dean, played by actress Margo Harshman.

LaBeouf looks back at his time on the Disney Channel fondly, in fact, in 2015 the “Honey Boy” actor live-streamed himself watching all his old projects, including the three seasons of “Even Stevens” and “The Even Stevens Movie”.

LaBeouf’s latest projects, “Honey Boy” and “Peanut Butter Falcon” have received raved reviews. “Honey Boy”, which is inspired by LaBeouf’s childhood, is streaming now on Amazon Prime Video while “Peanut Butter Falcon” hit big screens early 2019.
