Steve Harvey is about to launch a new talk show — and this time it will be for Facebook Watch.
The new series, “Steve on Watch”, debuts on Monday, Jan. 6, and a sneak peek at the new show finds Harvey interviewing Willie Murphy, an 82-year-old grandmother — and powerlifter — who recalls having a big surprise in store for a would-be thief who broke into her home.
“I picked up that table and you wanna know something, I stood up and I’m whamming him. The table broke and he fell back,” she explained as Harvey looked on in awe.
“You’re jumping on him?” Harvey clarified with a laugh. “Oh you stomping him, that ain’t jumping. Jumping and stomping… stomping is you trying to take him out.”
Other guests set to appear in the initial episodes of “Steve on Watch” include rapper Rick Ross and astrophysicist/”Cosmos” host Neil deGrasse Tyson.
“Reaching my audience anywhere and everywhere they are has always been the goal,” Harvey said in a statement in early December, when “Steve on Watch” was first announced. “Facebook Watch viewers are the most energetic, engaged community, and so are my amazing fans. Getting all those people to directly engage on a platform like this is the perfect evolution of the show.”
