With Coachella announcing their 2020 lineup, fans were most surprised to see Danny Elfman’s name listed.
The artist is best known for his work with Tim Burton on the soundtracks of “The Nightmare Before Christmas”, “Edward Scissorhands” and “Beetlejuice”. Although some of his other work includes “Men in Black”, “Good Will Hunting” and Michael Keaton’s “Batman” films.
“I guess the cat is out of the bag. @coachella 2020! Danny Elfman… Past, Present and Future! From Boingo to Batman and Beyond!” he tweeted after news broke.
Besides his work as a composer, Elfman was also part of the rock band Oingo Boingo.
“A band builds slowly. You’re playing to 50 people, then 100, then 1,000, then 5,000, and along the way you’re building a repertory, and people know what to expect at your concerts. There’s really no template for this. What is a concert of your film music supposed to be like?” he previously told Entertainment Weekly.
His fans were ecstatic for the announcement and turned to Twitter to celebrate:
Coachella takes place over two weekends between April 10-19.
