Oprah Winfrey is in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, this weekend, the latest stop on her Weight Watchers-sponsored “Oprah’s 2020 Vision: Your Life in Focus” arena tour.
For Saturday’s presentation, Winfrey welcomed a very special guest: Lady Gaga, sporting cotton-candy pink hair and large black-rimmed glasses as they discussed a wide array of topics, including a brief mention of her long-awaited new album.
“All the time I actively work on myself,” Gaga told Winfrey during their chat. “If I don’t I will sit and I will be in bed all day.”
She addressed the audience to add, “We’re having a self-care conversation but I’m still going to make music, don’t worry!”
As Just Jared reports, Gaga also opened up about being “perfectly imperfect. We all are.”
She continued: “This is a time that’s for you to give back to YOU. When you give back to yourself you sit back in a state of gratitude and are able to give back to the people around you. That is how we heal the world.”
According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Gaga’s discussion with Winfrey spanned a full hour, with the “Shallows” singer getting candid about how some of the more painful points in her life contributed to making her the person she is today.
“I was raped repeatedly when I was 19 years old, and I also developed PTSD as a result of being raped and also not processing that trauma,” she told Oprah.
“I believe all things were supposed to happen,” added Gaga. “Because God was saying to me, ‘I am going to show you pain and then you are going to help people in pain.’”
