The 2020 Golden Globes will be missing two big nominees.

According to Variety, Russell Crowe and Christian Bale each be skipped the awards ceremony on Sunday night.
Crowe, who is nominated for Best Actor in a Miniseries for his work in “The Loudest Voice” has reportedly opted to stay back in Australia, which is currently being ravaged by wildfires.
During the show, Crowe won the his award, and Jennifer Aniston announced that he is home “protecting his family” from the fires. She then read a message sent from by him in the event that he won.
“Make no mistake, the tragedy unfolding in Australia is climate change-based,” the actor wrote. “We need to act based on science, move our global workforce to renewable energy and respect our planet for the unique and amazing place it is, that way we all have a future. Thank you.”

Meanwhile, Bale is reportedly at home sick with the flu. The actor, who is nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for his role in “Ford v Ferrari”, came down with the illness while on vacation out of the U.S., and a source said he was advised that for medical reasons he should not fly.
The Golden Globes are airing Sunday night at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
