Billy Porter is a quadruple threat; he can act, sing, dance, and can slay any red carpet (any carpet or turf for that matter). And his 2020 Golden Globes outfit is absolutely no exception.
Porter, who is nominated for Best Performance By An Actor In A Television Series for portraying Pray Tell in “Pose”, werked the red carpet with an all-white feathered outfit.
Breaking his stunning look down, he’s rocking a custom tuxedo jacket that extends to a seemingly endless feather train by Alex Vinash, a fitted button-down shirt, matching Jimmy Choo shoes, and is finished off with a Tiffany & Co. necklace.
His most dramatic accessory could be the person behind him whose in charge of the train #DreamJob.
But when E! Live asked him about his outfit, he shared that “feathers are fragile; the skirt zips off,” adding, “It is a dinner and I do have to sit down – and this is not a sitting outfit, it’s a standing outfit.”
Porter is famously known for his bold looks and expressing himself through his fashion choices. As shown above, he sported a show-stopping velvet tuxedo dress for the 2019 Oscars.
And as for how he lands on the best and worst dressed lists? Porter shared with People that “It’s interesting to me that that’s always the question and that we’re always in this space of who’s the best [dressed] and who’s the worst [dressed]. There is room and space for everything and everybody.”
Porter continues to share why wearing gender-fluid outfits is important by expressing “As a man, I really want to make a different kind of statement and show up in a way that could also be transformative, that could also be political,” adding, “put a man in a dress and it’s controversial, doesn’t make any sense, but okay. Let’s keep having this conversation until we can change something.”
