Taylor Swift took the stage with Amy Poehler at Sunday’s 2020 Golden Globes, seven years after the comedian made a controversial joke about the singer while hosting the ceremony with Tina Fey.
When Fey and Poehler presented the awards show back in 2013, they made a joke about Swift going after Michael J. Fox’s son after her split from Conor Kennedy.
Swift didn’t see the funny side at the time. However, it seems she’s on good terms with Poehler once again.
The pair presented the award for Best Animated Film Sunday.
Swift told the audience, “Amy and I are excited about this next category because we both love animation.”
Poehler quipped, “Speak for yourself, Taylor. I like movies about people, by people.”
She then said, as Swift questioned who made the movies, “Tiny mice, during the night. Duh!”
“Missing Link” ended up nabbing the gong.
Swift previously spoke to Vanity Fair following Poehler and Fey’s dig, saying there was a “special place in hell for women who don’t help other women.”
She said two months after the 2013 ceremony, “For a female to write about her feelings, and then be portrayed as some clingy, insane, desperate girlfriend in need of making you marry her and have kids with her, I think that’s taking something that potentially should be celebrated — a woman writing about her feelings in a confessional way — that’s taking it and turning it and twisting it into something that is frankly a little sexist.”
