Tom Hanks Once Took A Selfie On A Fan’s Unattended Cellphone

As if we didn’t already love Tom Hanks enough.

On Sunday, the superstar was honoured with the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the 77th annual Golden Globes. While we all know how funny Tom Hanks is, his win prompted a fan to share a hilarious — albeit indirect — interaction she once had with the “Beautiful Day In the Neighborhood” actor on Twitter. The tweet, of course, went viral.

A number of years ago I left my iPhone unattended in the same room as Tom Hanks. The next day, I found this photo in my camera roll. To be clear: I’ve never met him. But I do believe he is exactly who we hope he is, and I don’t want to know if I’m wrong. pic.twitter.com/TUrCarxt8N

While she, unfortunately, did not get to meet Hanks, she is certain he is the sweet, lovable guy we all know him to be.

During his acceptance speech at the award ceremony, Hanks recalled some valuable lessons he learned during his early acting days. He also shared some advice with aspiring actors.

“Knowing the text, and it’s not just your lines, it’s the whole thing. It’s the red dot, it’s the theme of the movie. You’ve got to know it. You might not be right in the opinion you bring to it but you’ve got to come at it with some direction.”
