Sarah Snook is thankful her family and friends have not been “affected” by the Australia wildfires.
The “Succession” star chatted with People magazine at HBO’s Golden Globes on Sunday night and opened up about her loved ones and those affected by the deadly wildfires. The fires have burned through more than 11 million acres since starting in September.
“It’s intense,” she said. “Thank God my personal family and friends aren’t affected but a huge amount of people are.”

Snook wasn’t the only Aussie star to bring up the wildfires, in fact, Russell Crowe skipped the awards to take care of his home Down Under. And when the actor won Best Actor in a Miniseries or TV Movie for his portrayal of Roger Ailes, presenters Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston accepted the award on Crowe’s behalf and delivered a message from him about the state of emergency.
“Make no mistake, the tragedy unfolding in Australia is climate change-based,” Aniston shared, reading from Crowe’s words. “We need to act based on science, move our global workforce to renewable energy and respect our planet for the unique and amazing place it is. That way, we all have a future. Thank you.”
According to the University of Sydney, half a billion total mammals, birds and reptiles have died.
Many celebs have taken to social media to offer their contributions. Singer Pink recently donated $500,000 to the cause.
Snook’s hit HBO series, “Succession”, won big at Sunday night’s awards, taking home both Actor in a Drama Series for Brian Cox and Drama TV Series.
