Prince Charles is sending his love to the people of Australia as the horrific fires across the country continue.
Over 100 fires are burning in Victoria, South Australia, and New South Wales, which has caused the destruction of thousands of homes and has claimed the lives of 24 people and half a billion animals.
Charles said in a clip shared by Clarence House, “I fear this is a hopelessly inadequate way of trying to get a message to all of you that both my wife and myself are thinking of you so very much at such an incredibly difficult time.”
“Both of us have been in despair over the last several weeks watching this appalling horror unfolding and witnessing so much of what you’re having to go through from this distance.”

Charles continued, “Those of you who have tragically lost your properties, your houses, everything… to me it is, and to both of us, not to be believed possible. I know how many houses have been lost.”
The royal also praised the “remarkable, courageous and determined firefighters,” as well as mentioning all the “Australian wildlife destroyed in these appalling infernos.”
