The Strumbellas Postpone Canadian Tour Due To Band Member ‘Undergoing Medical Treatment’

The Strumbellas have been forced to postpone their upcoming 14-city Canadian tour after an unidentified member of the band was hospitalized to treat an unspecified illness.

In a message shared on the The Strumbellas’ social media, the band revealed the tour’s postponement was due to the fact that “a band member has been hospitalized and is undergoing medical treatment for an illness and we are unable to perform at this time.”

The message continued, advising fans to hold onto their tickets “as they will be honoured for the rescheduled date.”

Band keyboardist Dave Ritter added a statement: “We’ve been looking forward to this tour across Canada for a long time,” he wrote. “We know people go to a lot of effort to come see us, and we don’t take that for granted. We never want to disappoint fans, especially fans in our home country that have supported us for so many years.”

Ritter concluded by promising the band is “working on getting back to full strength and focused on getting out on the road to be with you guys as soon as we can. Thanks for your love and support, we’re nothing without you.”

The band did not offer any further comment at this time.

The tour was scheduled to begin on Thursday in Victoria, BC and was to have concluded on Feb. 15.

Other Canadian dates postponed include Ottawa, Edmonton, Winnipeg and Saskatoon, in addition to five dates at various venues in the band’s hometown of Toronto.

The Strumbellas’ latest album, Rattlesnake, was released in March 2019.
