Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are planning to step back as “senior” members of the Royal Family and that has the stars talking.

A number of notable entertainment personalities reacted to a statement released by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on Wednesday. ET Canada obtained the statement and you can read it in its entirety here. The statement was released amid rumours that Harry and Meghan are planning to move to Canada.

While some stars, like Jameela Jamil, supported the Duke and Duchess’ decision, others, like Piers Morgan, shunned them.

“And that folks, is what power looks like,” Jamil tweeted. Meanwhile, Morgan asserted, “Wow. What a disgraceful way to treat the Queen. Shame on Harry and Meghan.”

Entertainment correspondent Chris Witherspoon asked, “Dear senior producers for ‘The Crown’, can we skip ahead a few decades and focus on Megan and Harry for season four? That would be event TV!” Ava DuVernay responded, “If they need a director… I volunteer as tribute!”

Andy Cohen commented on the Royals’ Instagram post, “Open invite for the Duchess to join #RHOBH!!!!” Kaling simply wrote, “✨✨✨✨✨” and “Southern Charm” actress Cameran Eubanks said, “This above all, to thine own self be true’ I admire you both.”

Meghan’s father, Thomas, also had his say. However, despite speaking openly about his daughter and her husband in the past, he simply told US Weekly of the latest news: “I’ll just simply say I’m disappointed.”
