The on-again, off-again romance between Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid seems to be back on.
On Saturday night, the supermodel and the former One Direction singer were photographed together in New City, where they reportedly celebrated Malik’s 27th birthday.
According to Just Jared, the couple were joined by Hadid’s sister, Bella Hadid, and singer Dua Lipa, who is dating the Hadid sisters’ brother Anwar.
Photos of Hadid, 24, and Malik show the pair appearing relaxed and smiling as they strolled the streets of Manhattan.
Fans have been speculating that the pair have rekindled their romance in recent weeks due to some social media comments.
It began when Hadid issued a post on Instagram Story reading, “Sunday in the kitchen about to marinate the chicken for one of my favorites!!! @mammamalik’s Chicken Curry Pasta Salad.” She tagged Malik’s mother, Trisha, who in turn reposted the photo on her Instagram story.
Later, Malik’s mother reposted a post from from a fan’s Instagram, featuring Hadid being asked, “What’s your favorite restaurant in the world?” and she responded, “My boyfriend’s mom’s house.”
Malik’s mother then wrote, “@gigihadid hahaha 😂👌🤷♀️💋.”
The seemingly rekindled romance comes after an insider told E! News that the pair had reconnected after their split in January 2019, which came after several breakups and reconciliations since 2015.
“Gigi has always had a soft spot for Zayn and they have a lot of history together. They are definitely not getting back together but are on good terms right now,” the source said. “They went through a phase where they took time apart and weren’t communicating at all, but they have been in touch recently. She is supportive of him. They chat here and there but it’s been casual.”
