Joaquin Phoenix is certainly on a roll.
On Sunday, the actor took him the Critics’ Choice Award for best actor for his role as Arthur Fleck in “Joker”. The win comes shortly after Phoenix earned himself a Golden Globe for the same character.

This time, though, he’s making sure to thank his mom, Heart Phoenix.
“I need to thank my mom. Mom, you’ve always been my greatest inspiration, even when self-pity led me astray. You’ve never given up on me and I deeply appreciate your support,” he said.
The “Joker” star also thanked Scott Silver, the film’s screenwriter.
“You used a superhero character to talk about childhood trauma, gun violence and mental health,” Joaquin said, acknowledging his character’s mental illness and violent, criminal tendencies.
In November, the widely popular film surpassed $1 billion at the box office worldwide, making it the first R-rated movie to achieve this.
