Pearl Jam is set to go on tour in 2020.
Monday brought big news for the band’s fans when the group announced a new album is on the way, followed by a string of North American tour dates.
In a video on YouTube, the Pearl Jam revealed plans to release its 11th studio album, Gigaton, in March.
Gigaton will mark the rockers’ first album since 2013’s Lightning Bolt, with the first single, “Dance of the Clairvoyants” to drop within the next few weeks.
“Making this record was a long journey,” guitarist Mike McCready said in a statement. “It was emotionally dark and confusing at times, but also an exciting and experimental road map to musical redemption. Collaborating with my bandmates on Gigaton ultimately gave me greater love, awareness and knowledge of the need for human connection in these times.”
In addition, the band will hit the road in support of Gigaton, with the tour kicking off on March 18 in Toronto. Other Canadian dates include Ottawa (March 20), Quebec City (March 22), Hamilton (March 24). From there, Pearl Jam will embark on a European tour throughout the summer.
Look for Gigaton to drop on March 27.
