Murder mysteries have been making a comeback to the big screen — and this next whodunit comes with a wacky comedic twist.
“The Lovebirds”, starring Issa Rae and Kumail Nanjiani, sees troubled couple Leilani and Jibran get tangled up in a crazy murder mystery.
The dynamic duo go on a journey to clear their names by enduring one hilarious circumstance to the next while also figuring out if their relationship will survive the night.
This romantic action-comedy will reunite Nanjiani with his director of “The Big Sick”, Michael Showalter. The 41-year-old Ninjiani and his wife Emily V. Gordon both earned Oscar nominations for their work on the film back in 2018.
“The Lovebirds”, which also stars Anna Camp, Paul Sparks, and Kyle Bornheimer, is gearing up to premiere at SXSW in March before hitting theatres on April 3.
