“Glee” co-stars Lea Michele, Kevin McHale and Jenna Ushkowitz got emotional while talking about the late Cory Monteith.

Michele joined the two for their “Showmance” podcast where they spoke about a number of “Glee” memories, including Monteith who Michele dated until his death in 2013.

McHale first recalled one of “most memorable parts” of shooting the pilot in which Monteith’s character saved McHale’s from a port-a-potty.

“He and are like, ‘This is insane, isn’t it? We are going to remember this forever. This is special.’ It was just the two of us. I’m like, ‘Yeah, this is really wild,'” he noted.

Michele then added, “The moments that made me so emotional were not anything that ever has made me emotional before about the show. One of them was when he took you out of the port-a-potty. There were so many moments that you see the whole arc of a character for a whole season in one moment. Him taking you out of the bathroom, and you see Finn’s heart. Oh my God.”

Things weren’t all sad. They also explained how close the entire cast was.

“We were really having the time of our lives,” Michele said while talking about living with Dianna Agron during season one.

McHale added, “That’s what people don’t understand. We would work all day together and then actively want to hang out afterwards.”
