Catherine O’Hara was in a reflective mood when she and the rest of the cast appeared at the Television Critics Association press tour to promote the final season of “Schitt’s Creek”.

“I’m really spoiled,” O’Hara told reporters after the sessions for the show.  “I was spoiled right at the very beginning with Second City and SCTV… it’s really hard to let go once you’ve had it at this point.”

Looking back at her six seasons on the critically acclaimed and universally beloved Canadian comedy, the 65-year-old actress praised series co-creators Daniel and Eugene Levy.

“The scripts that were given to us, the opportunities that my character was given, and how well and carefully Daniel wrote for all of our characters — they really are wrapped up beautifully this season,” she said, teasing the upcoming series finale.

“Eugene and Daniel [had] the freedom to make the show they wanted to make,” she added. “I don’t know why more people don’t do that.”

In addition to Moira Rose, another of O’Hara’s memorable roles as as the mom in “Home Alone”, and she was asked to share her thoughts about Disney+ looking to remake the iconic Christmas comedy.

“The premise could be any class, any race, any whatever. You know, it’s the most horrific [thing] to lose your child by your own fault,” said O’Hara. “It’s a great premise that could be done by any kind of family, but it has to be done by by John Hughes.”
