Following the death of Neil Peart, the late Rush drummer’s bandmates are taking to social media to share their thanks to fans for their kindness and support during a very difficult time.

Rush members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson shared a message on social media to send out their “most heartfelt thanks” to family, friends, musicians, writers and fans from around the globe for the incredible outpouring of love and respect for Neil since his passing.”

The brief message concluded: “These touching tributes help to lessen the pain of this terrible loss and remind us all to celebrate his remarkable life and our connections to it.”

 

On Jan. 7, Lee and Lifeson shared the sad news that Peart had passed away after “a brave three-and-a-half-year battle with brain cancer.”
