Jason Priestley and Luke Perry were co-stars on “Beverly Hills, 90210” from 1990 to 1995 and again, from 1998 to 2000. The two were also very close friends.

It’s been almost a year since Luke Perry died from a sudden stroke, and Priestley says that he is still very much grieving. During iHeartRadio’s ALTer EGO event on Saturday, Priestley shared his thoughts on his friend’s death.

Priestley said “It was only eight months ago. So, it is something that is always very close to me, and I think that every day that goes by, the more time that passes, the easier it gets to manage — but it is still something that is pretty raw.”

He added, “I was talking about it today with my wife, and when we lost Luke it didn’t feel like we had a sense of completion with his life, or with his career or with anything.”

Perry died on March 4 at the age of 52 — five days after the ’90s icon and “Riverdale” star was admitted to the hospital.

Priestley remarked about his friend’s age: “I think that is what made it so hard, it felt like he was only halfway there, which he really was. He was 52 years old, so remarkably young, and that is what made it so tragic.”

Perry’s daughter, 19-year-old Sophie, recently got a tattoo on her arm to honour her father. She also does humanitarian work that she intends on dedicating to her dad.

Sophie and Luke Perry’s 22-year-old son Jack were by their father’s side when he died. He was also surrounded by his ex-wife Minnie Sharp, fiancée Wendy Madison Bauer, and close family and friends.
