David Lynch is celebrating his 74th birthday with a short film.

On Monday, Netflix released a 13-minute single shot black-and-white film called, “What Did Jack Do?” In the short film, Lynch, who also serves as director, plays a detective interrogating a capuchin monkey who may have committed a murder. The “tormented monkey” gives Lynch’s character a real headache.
“What Did Jack Do?” is Lynch’s first turn in the movie director’s seat since 2006’s “Inland Empire”. He also had a major hand in the excellent third season of “Twin Peaks” in 2017.

Lynch serves as the director, star, writer, screenplay-writer and editor for “What Did Jack Do?” Happy birthday to Lynch.
