Arnold Schwarzenegger, Joe Manganiello and Sofia Vergara are uniting to help a very deserving person.
The trio attended the Arnold Strongman USA competition in Santa Monica on Saturday. The event served as a qualifier for the 2020 Arnold Strongman Classic in March.

We are so incredibly thankful for the amazing support today! It’s important for us to raise awareness and educate people as there are many families like us suffering due to this disease. We wanted to send a HUGE thank you to @santamonicafirefighters @venturacountyfirefighters @calfire for raising 10k dollars to support us and a HUGE thank you to @arnoldsports @schwarzenegger @sofiavergara @joemanganiello for matching that donation. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! ❤️💪👨🚒
During the competition, organizers brought out firefighter Eric Stevens. The firefighter was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in August, one month after he got married to Amanda Stevens.
For the uninitiated, ALS is a deadly neurological that slowly takes away a person’s muscle control. There is no known cure.
The couple shared their story with the hundreds in attendance. The organizers subsequently announced they were donating $10,000 to Stevens’ campaign to get access to promising trials and treatments.
In a touching moment, Schwarzenegger appeared and announced he would be matching the donation. Manganiello and Vergara also announced they would contribute for a grand total of $30,000.
“We are so incredibly thankful for the amazing support today! It’s important for us to raise awareness and educate people as there are many families like us suffering due to this disease,” the couple wrote on their Team Stevens Nation Instagram page. “Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”
